THE Special Supreme Council meeting today respect and obliged by decision made by the Pardon Board on former premier Najib Razak.

In a brief statement issued after the meeting which started at 11AM and ended at 2.45PM, it said Umno also fully recognised the prerogative right of the 16th King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin al-Musta Billah Shah.

Umno is, however, saddened by the situation despite upholding the Federal Constitution.

“We will continue our efforts in securing justice for Najib,” it said since Umno always believe Najib was not given a proper and just trial.

In the meeting chaired by Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Supreme Council hopes that Prime Minister (Anwar Ibrahim) will be with them in the effort.
