PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has reaffirmed its support for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the upcoming Ayer Kuning by-election, underscoring its commitment to the unity government.
“Our decision so far is to play a supporting role, as the seat in question is an incumbent Barisan Nasional seat held through its representative, Umno,” said Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at the Home Minister’s Iftar ceremony in Putrajaya, yesterday.
“Pakatan Harapan will begin its groundwork. This morning, I personally received direct instructions from Pakatan Harapan Chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to start preparations and mobilise efforts according to standard operating procedures,” Saifuddin added.
Saifuddin said the coalition’s first steps include activating its election machinery at both central and state levels, assessing logistical needs, and delegating tasks to party members.
