UMNO Youth has temporarily relieved  reits Barisan Nasional treasurer Shahrul Nasrun Kamarudin amid his personal affairs controversy.

Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the decision was made to allow him time to settle his personal matters following intense public attention on the issue.

“For now, he has been temporarily relieved of his duties to allow him to focus on his personal affairs.

“As for his personal matters, we will not interfere and will give him the space he needs to resolve them,” he was quoted as saying.

The controversy began when the politician’s former wife, an entrepreneur and influencer, made a series of allegations through her Instagram Stories.

She said she decided to speak up after feeling that certain parties were trying to damage her reputation.

The allegations surfaced shortly after the politician’s engagement, sparking widespread discussion on social media, with many questioning his credibility as a political figure.

That same night, the politician issued a statement on Instagram denying the allegations and expressing regret that his personal matters had become public.

He also defended his fiancée, saying that she was not involved in the controversy.
