KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 – Prayers and Yaasin reciting was held today for peace in Palestine and keeping Malaysians away from Covid-19. It took place virtually through Webex application and involved party’s top leadership including  President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

It was organized by Umno Headquarters and chaired by UMNO Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, aired ‘live’ on UMNO-Online Facebook. Among those taking party were upreme Council (MKT) members, Wanita, Youth and Puteri leadership.

In a brief speech Zahid said UMNO and Malaysians have always supported the Palestinian cause.

“We do not want a two-state policy to be formed, instead Palestine must be recognized as one state. UMNO tries to help at least in terms of morale and support,” he said.

Yassin’s recital and virtual prayer was led by Religious Bureau Chairman Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom. It also coincides with the party Diamond Jubilee celebration and the passing of Umno’s the Permanent Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Rizuan Ab Hamid.
