BARISAN NASIONAL MEDIA STATEMENT
BARISAN Nasional Supreme Council concludes its meeting this evening. It is now comprised of four parties namely UMNO, MCA, MIC and PBRS.
BN is the largest political pact with 43 Parliamentarians that show support for Pagoh MP Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to be appointed as the 8th Prime Minister and name his Cabinet lineup under the newly-named Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
The meeting today unanimously endorsed:
- BN to continue its undivided support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the 8th Prime Minister.
- BN supports the Perikatan Nasional government led by Muhyiddin.
- On PN’s formal registration as a party, BN decided that it needed more time to get a consensus among its component parties on related matters.
- Should the vote of no confidence is brought to the Parliament, all BN Members of Parliament will cast an en-bloc support for Muhyiddin.
