Stay focus on voters, fortify MN

TANJUNG MALIM, Aug 23 – UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said all standard operation procedures (SOP) enforced by the government will be observed during the Slim by-election.

He said the last stage of campaign now focuses on house-to-house approach in ensuring the voters opt for Barisan Nasional candidate.

“In the final week of campaign, we give more attention to targeted groups while adhering to all SOP. Our approach is house-to-house call. All leaders from UMNO, BN, PAS and others who assist us will use similar approach.

“There will be a Muafakat Nasional (MN) gathering tomorrow night where together with PAS president, we will observe the SOP.”

Zahid who is the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk also said MN will be further strengthened although it has yet to be registered.

“MN will be fortified not only involving UMNO and PAS but to apply the same approach in BN which sees MCA and MIC remain together.

“Although we in MN are yet to be registered, it is a convergence of political cooperation among parties supporting it. PAS is already with Bersatu in the registered Perikatan Nasional and this explains it all,” he said.
