A year on: MN stands tall

WANITA UMNO Chief Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad hoped friendship between the two largest Malay/Muslim parties,  UMNO and PAS remains despite many trials and challenges.
“September 14, 2019 will be remembered as a historic day for the Muslim community when the two largest parties in the country sit together on the stage…
“In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Compassionate, UMNO and PAS have declared the formation of Muafakat Nasional that upholds the agenda of uniting the ummah to prosper the plural Malaysia.”
She added that despite many challenges, MN is still gooing strong.
For the record, Sept 14 last year marked a historic moment when UMNO and PAS signed the Muafakat Nasional Charter, witnessed by hundreds of thousands at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) and ‘live’ on social media channels .
It was signed by UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Among the commitments of Muafakat Nasional are mutual respect among Malaysians, upholding the Federal Constitution, recognising Islam as the official religion, sovereignty of the Malay Rulers, the special position of the Malays and Bumiputera as well as the legitimate rights of other communities and Malay as the national language.
