The new GRS government must deliver

BARISAN Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his gratitude for the victory achieved in the 16th Sabah State Election along with other Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) partners.
He said, gratitude goes to the voters who have given their trust in GRS as well as appreciation to the entire party machinery who worked hard to secure the victory.
“Alhamdulillah, I express my gratitude to Allah swt for the victory. I would like to thank the voters in Sabah who once again after 27 months gave back their trust to BN and its partners in GRS for Sabah to return to glory and reject promises that could not be fulfilled before ,” he said in a video conference.
At the same time, however, Zahid also stressed that the victory should not only be appreciated but also need to be translated into the formation of a new government that take care of the rakyat.
“However, we feel that this victory is a victory that should not only be appreciated but we must translate the formation of a new state government in the spirit of the Sabah people’s coalition. We also have other partners in the GRS, namely Bersatu, PBS and STAR and the negotiations should not only be done between partners in GRS but we should be open-minded for the benefit of the people of Sabah.
“This time around we fully translate the autonomy given to UMNO and BN Sabah, namely the ADUNs who have been elected to determine who will be elected and approved by His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua of Sabah to be elected as Chief Minister,” he said. he said.
Earlier, Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the GRS had succeeded in forming the state government and Warisan Plushas collapsed.
At the same time, he said the GRS which consists of BN, Perikatan Nasional and PBS will form the state government.
