UMNO is of the stand that Perikatan Nasional (PN) government in Perak must be retained.
This was expressed by its Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan when commenting the latest development in the state. He said it in a media statement in Kuala Lumpur, today.
“All state Excos must also be retained.
“Umno is also of the opinion that PPBM and Pas must uphold the PN government in Perak,” Ahmad who is also Member of Parliament for Pontian said.
He said the vote of confidence today only affected the position of the mentri besar without changing the state government status.
The Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Faizal Azumu had this morning fail to obtain majority votes at the State Assembly.
In a secret ballot, Ahmd Faizal who is also representative for Chenderiang only received 10 votes while 48 other reps opposed his position as the mentri besar. One rep abstained.
