KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 – “Praise God the Almighty, UMNO members and supporters understand what the ‘Court Cluster’ is going through. They knew that whoever leads UMNO will be a potential member of the ‘Court Cluster’.”
UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed this in his Facebook posting today.
The fact is, he said, there is no cluster of whatsoever in the UMNO leadership.
“What’s more, UMNO grassroots want UMNO to remain united although there are some differences which the party attended to with an open heart. However, the interpretation that there are various political ‘clusters’ today, according to political analysts, is inevitable,” he said.
He explained that some believe those in the ‘Court Cluster’ must resign to save UMNO.
“Surprisingly, they are also supporters of the ‘Power-Craze Cluster’, those who are anti-UMNO. There is also ‘Opportunist Cluster’ also known as the ‘Broker Cluster, adding salts to the wound.
“Fortunately, UMNO members and supporters can sense the bad intention of these clusters. Even those who are neutral are able to see the agenda of these two clusters. This is the social media era. Furthermore, more than 3 million UMNO members and supporters know that this ‘Court Cluster’ will be UMNO’s last defense.
Zahid who is also Barisan Nasional chairman and Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk said, they knew the reason why the Power-Craze and Broker clusters are very inciting, trying to get into the members’ mind that leaders of the ‘Court Cluster’ must be rejected.
“Power-Craze and the Broker clusters are worried seeing that UMNO is rising and getting stronger. The Power-Craze Cluster is worried of losing their power while the Broker Cluster is afraid of losing their positions,” he said.
Zahid is among UMNO leaders charged in court over 45 charges of breach of trust, accepting bribes and money laundering amounting to RM114 million under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds from Illegal Activities Act (AMLATFPUAA) 2001.
Apart from him, different allegations were made against UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and UMNO Treasurer, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor as well as several UMNO leaders.
