Zahid, MT to decide withdrawal from PN

THE General Assembly delegates have agreed to give their mandate to president and the UMNO Supreme Council (MKT) as to when will be proper for UMNO to withdraw from the Perikatan Nasional government, said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The President said, if any decision is made, he hopes it will get the cooperation of UMNO MPs in the cabinet and government-linked companies (GLCs).
“The delegates have given a mandate to the president and MKT to choose the right date. This is their decision and I am confident that my friends, especially ministers, deputy ministers, GLC chairmen and even all members of Parliament will fully abide by the party’s decision.
“It means that when the party reaches a decision, they will not be upset to resign and comply ,” he said.
He said this in his winding up address at the UMNO 2020 General Assembly at the Dewan Merdeka, World Trade Center, today.
The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman also thanked all the UMNO State Liaison chairmen who are of the same stance.
