KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 – Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan thanks the government for listening to the people’s concern about the rising infection cases of Covid-1.
The Pontian Member of Parliament was commenting on the announcement by the National Security Council committee on Covid-19 to enforce total lockdown in the country beginning June 1st to 14.
“Thank you for listening to us. Full lockdown it is. I suggested it three days ago, yesterday and today. Let’s suffer now than later.
“Provide necessary assistance to the B40 group, bank moratorium and rental waiver to them, the PKS, IKS and an automatic vaccination registration. Speed up the vaccination,” he said on his Twitter account.
Ahmad was among few leaders who suggested for a total lockdown amid the daily spiraling new cases of Covid-19 infection.
The special announcement by MKN stated that the lockdown will come into force for 14 days beginning June 1st.
The Prime Minister Department in a statement today said all activities will take temporary leave except for economic and services sectors it would detail out later.
The decision was made after the new daily cases exceeded 8,000 with more than 70,000 active cases.
