Closing date for vaccination is ridiculous – Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 – Suggestion for the government to set a closing dateline for vaccination registration is ridiculous and irresponsible, says Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said since his involvement in politics and the administration, never had he heard such a crap.

“I actually don’t want to take heed of such stupid statements which wouldn’t help us resolve any issue.

“Anyhow, come to think about it, all these are very misleading. It came from people with shallow mind, lazy and lack of jurisdiction and even against the principles of medicine and look inhumane,” he said in a Facebook posting.

The Bagan Datuk MP said what’s more it came from the information chief of a political party dominating the government.

“The suggestion is akin to putting the blame continuously on the people amid the high Covid-19 infection in Malaysia.

“In reality, almost 15 million people have registered for vaccination. The problem lies with the slow progress of vaccination.

“As at June 16, only 3.6 million Malaysians have received their first dose while 1.4 million have completed their second.

The Barisan Nasional chairman also questions what will happen to those still unregistered when a dateline is set?

“Will they face action or denied vaccination forever? I wonder what was he thinking. We should persuade them to register and not forcing them. As what BN did, multiply our machinery to help them register immediately,” he said.
