I HEREBY appoint Deputy President Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Hasan who is the Barisan Nasional and Umno War Room chairman as the new Umno Election Director with immediate effect.

The restructuring of the Election Department is meant to strengthen the mechanism at all levels and the grassroots.

With his current position as the BN Deputy Chairman, Mohamad’s appointment will help simplify any decision making for general election involving all BN component parties.

Umno would like to express its appreciation and thanks to Dato’ Seri Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman who is the outgoing party election director.
