Noble idea in ‘Resume the Interrupted’

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 – Information Chief Shahril Hamdan said the ‘Resume the Interrupted’ was mooted to show how Umno’s idea can contribute towards harmonizing the country’s political landscape.
This is because there are loopholes in long-term plans yet to be discussed.
“To move forward, any party must present a clear vision of why it needs to be supported, for example young people support a party which is of course in their expectation that the party can bring ideas or for long-term ideas and planning.
“I think this happened before the 14th General Election. The then Barisan Nasional government had long -term plans seen as logic by many people.
“Meanwhile, for Pakatan Harapan (PH) which we rejected also had a long-term plan but after their victory on May 9, 2018, it didn’t materialise, and at that time, the people only focused on current issues and not the future planning.
“At that time we saw the issue of ICERD… then we rejected ICERD, the Rome Statue which we opposed, the moratorium we fought for, so are i-Sinar and others. All these are in tandem with the country’s vision.”
He who is also Umno Youth Vice Chief said this when discussing the topic ‘Istiqamah Umno Buat Kebaikan…’ with the ‘team’ Fikrah Pahang here today.
“In Umno, there is already a plan under the Manifesto Committee led by Vice President Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin. However, I was permitted by our president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to implement the ‘Resume the Interrupted’ so that the idea for medium or long-term policies can shape up the domestic political landscape.
For the next election, he said that anyone with positive idea holds advantage in determining where their votes should go to.
