KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 – Party President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hails Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the opening ceremony of the Parliament sitting today.
The BN chairman says he will present the people’s voice throughout the 17-day session, which will last until October 12.
“Parliament is the symbol of the country’s democratic structure. We cannot take for granted the people’s voice. Malaysia is a sovereign and constitutional country that practices parliamentary democracy.
“May God make everything easier for the sake of the people and the future of the beloved country,” he says in a Facebook posting.
The parliamentary session that started today was the first under the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Meanwhile, the Dewan Negara which was officiated simultaneously with the Dewan Rakyat, will sit on Oct 4 to 26.
