KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 – Party President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said so many vehicles, especially cars and motorcycles were submerged during the floods.
He who is also the Barisan Nasional Chairman was informed that some of the damages were beyond repair.
“I am very sympathetic with them… We are aware that cars and motorcycles are no longer a luxury but a necessity,” he said in a FB posting.
He also hoped that workshop owners are very considerate with the flood victims.
“Do not try to take the opportunity to make excessive profits for vehicle repair work. Similarly, spare parts business owners should not hike up their prices due to high demand.
“What’s more, most vehicle owners reportedly do not subscribe to natural disaster insurance policies.”
He said the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) had also issued a warning regarding the matter.
“Don’t opportune from their hardship. Now is the time for all parties to come together to help those in trouble. We have confidence in the kindness of the workshop operators and spare parts dealers.
“Hopefully, good services will facilitate to normalize their livelihood,” he said.
