KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 – Debaters at the Umno General Assembly 2021 should take the opportunity to submit ideas and proposals for the well being of the people.

Vice-President Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the debate should not be centered on politics alone but the predicament of the people, notably their request from Putrajaya.

“They want a faster economic recovery, enough food, income and others. I believe the debaters are able to make good suggestions to the government, apart from talking about moratorium and micro credit,” he said after meeting them today. Also present were Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Permanent Chairman Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin.

Asked whether there will be a motion to support the leadership of Prime Minister who is also Vice-President Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, and also the Muafakat Nasional with PAS, the Rural Development Minister said there was a proposal by few divisions.

 “There are various motions… (there are) motions that support Ismail Sabri as PM, motions on general election and also on Umno going solo in GE15.”
