Our ‘Top 5’ is united, says party President

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi refuted some allegations that the Top 5 in Umno is not in the same turf and of different opinion.

He said, the General Assembly has proven that he, his deputy and three vice-presidents are in fact in solid mind to further work closely for the benefit of Umno and Malaysians.

“The five of us share similar page over the motions and suggestions voiced out by the delegates at the conference. This is not the wrong picture given by outsiders,” he said during a Press conference after delivering his winding up speech at the General Assembly.

Present were his deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and party vice-presidents Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakub, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid and Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin.

“There is no difference in opinion. The delegates have agreed whatever discussed by the Top Five will be further deliberated by the Supreme Council for approval, especially on the general election and the party election.

Zahid who is also BN chairman said they often meet to find solution best for the party and the people.

“The Prime Minister and our Deputy President have said it. We cannot reveal what was discussed but generally, its about the people and the party.

On the Memorandum of Understanding in Political Stability and Transformation inked by the government and Pakatan Harapan last September, he said the MoU which will expire on July is fully respected.

“We must put the people first. Let the Cabinet decides and let the PM bring it to the King.”
