No need to renew the MoU in July – Mohamad

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 – Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said cooperation between the government and the opposition needs to be re-evaluated.
The BN deputy chairman also said the time has come for the government to move forward without depending too much on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Opposition, when it is to be renewed in July.
Mohamad was commenting to the Opposition fracas that rejected a motion on SOSMA at the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. The motion was thus rejected.

“The failure of this motion is something unexpected. It seems that everyone thinks that there is a clear understanding between the government and the Opposition in matters or proposals involving legal and policy reforms, in particular as disclosed in Article 3 of the Memorandum of Understanding between them,” he said in a FB posting.
Mohamad said it clearly showed that the cooperation and understanding between the government and the Opposition was actually a farce.
“Pakatan Harapan (PH) is an unreliable party. They are infamous for breaking promises,” the Rantau rep said.
