‘Umno Extraordinary General Assembly is historic’

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 – Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the Extraordinary Umno General Assembly (today) is yet another big leap and will be in history book after the party was established seven decades ago.
This is because it also marks the 76th Umno Anniversary and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
“This is an important history as we will hold three big programs in one day for the first time. As at Friday, about 2,500 out of 2,600 delegates have expressed willingness to attend,” he said after observing a rehearsal for the celebration led by Executive Secretary Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan.

Ahmad, who is also the Member of Parliament for Pontian praised the HQ staff for the preparations.

The assembly is for Umno to amend its Constitution, notably for party election to be held after the general election.
Compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) was also set such as the use of face masks and the use of sanitation.
Delegates are also required to show the status on their MySejahtera to the secretariat before entering the hall.
