KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 – Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan fully supports the Malay language internationalisation efforts implemented by the Federal government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In his Twitter comment, he said the effort requires the cooperation of all, including translating books from various languages.
“The internationalisation of the #Malay language is a very good policy undertaken by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri. The translation of books, sources of knowledge from various languages should be enhanced. Many developed countries use their mother tongues.”
When officiating the Malay Language Internationalisation Symposium at Wisma Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), here on the weekend, Ismail Sabri said the government had instructed that all matters involving foreign countries, including correspondence, must be in Malay.
The premier also said that every his letter to world leaders will also use Malay with English translation as an attachment.
