KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received a courtesy call from China Ambassador Ouyang Yujing at the Umno HQ, today.
They discussed various issues in the one-hour meeting, notably efforts to further strengthen inter-party relations.
Apart from recent development in the region and internationally, they also centered their discussion on the 48-year relations between Malaysia and China.
“BN will restore investors’ confidence, hoping to win the next general election. We need support from all friendly nations, including China,” Zahid said.
The BN Chairman said they also cited Malaysia’s role as one of China’s main trading partner in Asean, and during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Our relations must observe the diplomatic sentiment and sensitivity to sustain stability in this region,” he said.
Also present was Umno Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
