KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 – Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan wished that his interview with Hong Kong-based media, Asia Times, will be seen in a comprehensive context.
He said statements take out context could give an inaccurate picture.
“I would like to emphasize that my recent interview with Asia Times must be seen in the context of the whole or in totality and not piecemeal and fragmented, and what was reported has given an inaccurate picture.
“It is very important for me to emphasize that the overall context of the interview is my assertion that every accused person has the right to receive a fair judgment without any conflict of interest and amnesty under Malaysian law,” he said in a FB posting.
The Rembau division chief, however, refused to comment further on the report which ‘quoted’ him as saying Datuk Seri Najib Razak should go to jail (for the 1MDB issue).
“Everything that is out of context only gives a negative image to Datuk Seri Najib and myself, will be used as propaganda material by Umno’s political enemies.
“I no longer intend to comment on this matter and my overall focus is to prepare the party for the 15th General Election,” he said.
