BN still to go solo in next general election

CHUKAI, Aug 14 – Barisan Nasional (BN) remains committed to going solo in the 15th General Election (GE15) and will choose its partner, said its Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He said that however, any decision to pick a partner depends on situation and needs.
“After the election we will see, if we win and get to form our own government… thank God. If not, the party’s decision will determine who we need to negotiate with for a stable form of government,” he said at the Terengganu State BN GE15 Machinery Launch at Panjuk Beach, in Kijal near here on Saturday.
Mohamad said among the criteria set for the selection of parties that will form the coalition later are those that have common ground and the same agenda of struggle as BN.
In Kota Bharu earlier, he said BN must work on 3 ‘W’s’ to ensure victory in the 15th General Election (GE-15).
The Umno deputy president said the three ‘W’ are ‘winning mentality’, ‘winning strategy’ and ‘winning move’.
“‘Winning mentality’ which is the quest to win, preparation to win is important. ‘Winning strategy’ is a strategy to win, passion must be with the strategy because without a strategy it’s just throwing away bullets. Even the time of the Prophet SAW had a strategy.
“‘Winning move’ is what we want to do to manage the strategy we have already put in place. Having a strategy alone without having implementation steps is also not enough. Beautiful on paper, notice board but not managed or implemented is also not possible.
“Wars are won because of strategy. We entered this election ‘fighting’. If we go to war, we will win. Don’t go to war but we are not ready and we lose. We should never go to war and we know that we will lose,” he said at Joint Meeting of the UMNO Leadership here, Saturday.
