FORMER prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob revealed how his relation with Umno president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is good although some parties gave a negative picture.

In fact, the Bera Member of Parliament said his respect for the party president remains high although he was made the ninth prime minister in his capacity as an Umno vice president.

For that very reason, he said everything he did was meant to safeguard others’ feeling and sensitivity.

“Like it or not, he is our president. I came third, so I must respect him.

“To take care of their feeling, when I was minister of defence, as the deputy premier and then as prime minister, I had dozens of bodyguards.

“But I never requested for the Supreme Council meeting on the fourth floor because each time I went there, I didnt the president to hear their  siren, which could be obstructive to him.

“So, I entered the parking lot on Level 3, and the policemen were not allowed to turn on their siren.

“I did that simply to take care of his and other people feeling,” he said in a Podcast Keluar Sekejap (KS) conducted by former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar dan former Umno information chief Shahril Hamdan.

Ismail also said how he feel hurt when some Umno leaders stayed away from him when he was the prime minister.
