TWO Umno leaders today said the party will not re-accept Pejuang president Mukhriz Mahathir who was sacked in 2016 for reasons that he is ‘useless’ and display bad image.
Supreme Council leader Puad Zarkashi said Mukhriz reasoning not to return to Umno because there were efforts to release former premier Najib Razak from prison, as a lame excuse.
“He is actually feeling ashame of himself because Pejuang itself is at rickety, and in fact his father (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) didnt have faith in the party and left.
“Pejuang tried to chummy with Perikatan Nasional but I believe they will not be accepted,” he told FMT.
Last Saturday, Mukhriz said he will not return to Umno even though Zahid Hamidi no longer leads the party.
Mukhriz and Muhyiddin Yassin were removed by Umno on disciplinary ground for campainging for the Opposition in 2018 general election.
Another Supreme Council member Razlan Rafii said the party does not need someone who put personal interest above all.
“Mukhriz can stay outside… we do not need someone like him as a member because he even betray us from within.”
Describing Mukhriz as following his father’s footstep in building a political anarchy, Razlan said Umno moves as an organisation and will not fall to badmouthings by others.
