UMNO never stopped anybody from leaving the party, said deputy presiden Mohamad Hasan.
He said such a trend is normal in politics.
“Its up to them. If they feel there is no more place for them in the party, they are free to leave at their own will.
“We never stopped them from doing so.
“This is not the first time, even some leaders did so. Some left us, some joined the party,” he said in Seremban on Saturday.
He was commenting on rumours that Umno’s Supreme Council member Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz’s intention to join Parti Keadilan Rakyat or PKR.
Party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reminded members not to become members of the ruling United Government parties.
