BN will not go solo again in GE16, says Zahid

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that the party will not go solo in the next general election.

Speaking when opening Lumut delegates meeting in Sitiawan today, the Deputy Prime Minister said the party will instead strengthen its ally with MCA, MIC and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah in Barisan Nasional, and with Pakatan Harapan.

He said, UMNO’s defeat the last general election partly was its decision to contest solo.

“Why? Because we were too individualistic by going solo.

“Yes, when I was in Johor on Saturday, I heard some parties suggested on going solo again. Can we?”, he said.
