Dr Akmal ‘mocks’ PAS to revive MN

YOUTH chief Dr Akmal Saleh has called for Perikatan Nasional to be dissolved amid fresh signs of infighting within the coalition, particularly in Perlis.

In a Facebook post yesterday mocking the crisis di Perlis, Akmal said Umno had repeatedly urged PAS to prioritise strengthening the Muafakat Nasional (MN) pact shared by the two Malay-Muslim parties before the 2022 general election.

However, he said PAS instead chose Bersatu, hoping or both to share power in the government.

Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi, meanwhile said PAS must be ‘gentleman’ enough by handing over Perlis government to Bersatu since both parties are in Perikatan Nasional.

“Bersatu will not sack its five state reps who withdrew support for Perlis Menteri Besar. This is the time for Bersatu to administer the state,” he said in a FB posting.
