Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the issue surrounding the position of Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun will also be deliberated, Berita Harian reported.
He added that discussions with PH’s political bureau will cover several matters involving policy considerations and the respective positions of both coalitions in addressing the state’s crisis.
“What is happening in Negeri Sembilan relates to matters of policy as well as the stance of each party. So I believe we must return to the memorandum of understanding that underpins the formation of the unity government.
“Through this, when misunderstandings or disagreements arise, we have a proper platform, that is, the consultative council. We will meet next week.
“There are many aspects that need to be examined in this issue, as it does not merely involve individuals, but also the royal institution and customary practices,” he was quoted as saying.
Yesterday, Negeri Sembilan Umno chairman Jalaluddin Alias was reported as saying that the party would rather sit in the opposition than remain aligned with PH in the state administration, as it does not want to be implicated in the alleged wrongdoing by Aminuddin linked to issues of custom and the state constitution.
