It’s now up to MIC, says Ahmad Zahid

BARISAN Nasional (BN) hopes the close cooperation among its core parties gets stronger but at the same time respects whatever decisions they make.

Commenting on reports that MIC has applied to become one of Perikatan Nasional’s components, the deputy premier said BN accepts any decisions by them.

Speaking to reporters in Bagan Datuk on Sunday, Zahid said BN component parties namely Umno, MCA and MIC have long understanding and mutual respect.

“We in BN are of the stand that each and every component party must respect each other… but they are free to decide (on their future).

“It’s up to MIC,” he said without elaborating.
