UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today the party welcomes former leaders, including those suspended and sacked to come back to its foe.

“We are open. They are invited to the general assembly, and even can re-apply as members,” he said at the World Trade Centre today.

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin was seen this morning at the WTC after his last appearance in 2023.

Zahid said he was invited by Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh.

“I gave him the blessing to do so,” he said.

Akmal said earlier the wing had invited former youth leaders, including Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Khairy.

“They have confirmed all their attendance,” said Muhamad Akmal.
