People’s well being is always President’s priority

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 – If you ever wondered why the people’s well being and welfare are close at the President’s heart after the change of government, here are some answers.

“The purpose is to help the new government curb the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, as well as reviving the country’s economy which has been badly affected over the past few years,” said the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman in a Facebook posting.
The Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk said that the welfare of the people must be given serious attention.
“Afterall, this is in line with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s order for all parties to work together to restore the country. Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) has also set guidelines for the new government,” he said.
He further commented that the party has high confidence in the new government under new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“God willing, Umno will remain with the people for the sake of the King and the country,” he said.
On August 21, Ismail Sabri who is also Umno Vice President, took oath of office as the 9th Prime Minister before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin resigned following majority lost in the Dewan Rakyat.
In his media statement on Aug 27, Zahid said after chairing the Supreme Council that Umno paid tribute to The King for appointing a premier.
Similarly, he said several key guidelines had been discussed and agreed by MKT with the Prime Minister, among them responding to His Majesty’s call to hold a cross-party cooperation and consensus to jointly address the economic crisis, Covid-19 pandemic and the well-being of the people. .
The new government should also immediately focus efforts on tackling the Covid-19 pandemic and the vaccination process in order to achieve cluster immunity capable of reducing the risk of death from viral attacks.
