KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 – Party President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi called on all to turn the 64th Merdeka Day celebration an inspiration towards notching victory once again in this new dimension.

He said, the Merdeka Day this time also made us understand know more about the meaning of Independence.

“Thank God, Malaysia is celebrating its 64th Merdeka Day this year. The 64th celebration must come with new hope,” he said in a FB posting, today.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman also hoped that the country would be freed from Covid-19 pandemic soon.

“Being Independence is a freedom to our life. Some of us may have overlooked it.

“Now is the time to better understand its meaning. It is priceless and very valuable. It is true that Covid-19 has taken away some of our freedom but that has never demoralised our struggle. ”

Zahid explained that today’s enemies come in very tiny and many shapes and is hard to contain. This challenge makes the colonization of this dangerous virus so difficult to overcome around the world.

“Deaths are increasing by the day and many loved ones have died fighting it.”

However, he said a strong commitment will bear fruits provided that the coordination of actions and understanding are more solid because freeing the country from the dangerous threat that has sacrificed so many is a shared task.

“Then continue the struggle. Don’t give up because Malaysia is an independent country,” said the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk.
