JERAI, Sept 2 – Residents affected by the recent Gunung Jerai flooding must be assisted with the involvement of all parties, including the state government, NGOs and political parties.

Although Umno is ahead in helping those involved, much more is needed and this is the time for all parties to work together to solve their various problems, said Information Chief and Youth Vice Chief Shahril Hamdan.

He who went down to Jerai with local Youth leadership and other leaders said the assistance demonstrates how Umno remains with the people in any circumstances.

“Umno, particularly the Youth always help the people… and even become the ‘DNA’ of Umno. Be it in any circumstances, we are always there for them.

“The State Umno will lead it and central Umno will come to help. It is our staple work. It has never been touted and it has never been massively publicized because this is its foundation.

“Anyone who joins Umno knows this is part of their responsibility. I am here today together with Youth Chief Datuk Dr Asyraf and others. We are always there for the people.”
