KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 – President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi views the grassroots members of Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings as the ‘pillar’ of Umno.

As Umno has a long history, he said they were the ones who have shown loyalty to the party although they were faced with various challenges.

“You are the hope of the nation. You are real fighters and enforcers of the truth. The history of Umno’s struggle is very long, so continue it without fear and with full confidence.

“Strengthen it and stay united, success will prevail,” he said.

Zahid who is also the BN Chairman said this in conjunction with Umno Branch conference which started today at all 191 Divisions.

“Congratulations on holding nationwide meeting from today until November 30. Ask for His guidance, may you have the courage and strength in arriving at a consensus,” he said.

Earlier, the party Supreme Council’s meeting in September had set the date for branch conference beginning October 15 until November 30.

The Women, Youth and Puteri delegates meeting will be on 11 December and 12 December while the Divisional Delegates Meeting is slotted for 18 December.

The General Assembly 2021 is scheduled for January 13-15 next year.
