CONGRATULATIONS to those chosen as candidates for Melaka state election (PRN), hoping they will chalk victory for Umno and Barisan Nasional.
I’m also compelled to say a few words on those dropped or failed to make it as candidates this time.
The parti has uninamously selected 86 per cent newcomers, 78 per cent of whom are under 50 years of age and 82 per cent are graduates. This is in line with our new and bold move to pick those with WALI criteria (winnable, acceptable and likeable) as candidates.
Incumbents who were dropped had given excellent service to the party for three terms or more. The party would like to express gratitude to them and I hope they will give undivided support to their successors.
This is the spirit we always want from all members.
Do ensure victory for the party so that we can rule the State again.
To those who failed to make the cut, God Willing they will be considered in the future or for the Parliamentary seat in the next general election.
Most paramount here is to help our party wins the state election.
State assembleymen belong to the people at their respective constituency. The party has vetted them well before nominating them.
Let us win Melaka!
