KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 – Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the outcome of Melaka state election will reflect on the success or failure of Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general election.
“Yes, it will be reflective on the GE15. The spirit of our election machinery from all over the country is totally different now,” he said on a FB posting commenting on a video of all BN candidates.
The BN chairman also praise the coalition machinery for coming down to Melaka to give their utmost support.
“Thank you for convening in Melaka to help our candidates,” he said.
In the Melaka election, BN will field 28 candidates in all state constituencies, comprising of 20 from Umno, MCA (seven) and one from MIC. About 86 per cent of them are newcomers while four incumbents are retained.
Polling day is set for November 20 and early votes is on November 16.
