SEREMBAN, Dec 18 – The Umno-backed Barisan Nasional (BN) remains steadfast in its stand to move alone and does not want to be tied to any other party in the 15th General Election (GE15), said BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan .
He who is also Umno Deputy President said this was because the government formed after GE15 must be a government that gets a large majority, thus leading to political stability apart from adhering to the party’s 2020 General Assembly resolution which is to reject any cooperation with other parties.
“Obviously, Umno is taking the path for us to be alone (in GE15). We do not want any cooperation.
“If the party cannot do it, then it is better to think together or form a bond with a party that can become a partner to build a strong government, that is also one of the proposals by Rembau Division Delegates Conference earlier,” he told reporters here, today.
Asked whether the question of the Prime Minister’s (PM) position was discussed at the conference, Mohamad, who is also Rantau State Assemblyman said no motion was raised.
Meanwhile, he said matters related to the party election whether it will be held before or after the GE-15 would also be decided after discussions with the Supreme Council members first.
