PUTRAJAYA, Jan 16 – Umno Treasurer Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor stressed that the party’s struggle for religion, race and country must continue despite many challenges and obstacles.
The Putrajaya Member of Parliament said although the path is not easy, the spirit will not fade.
“Putrajaya Umno was never discouraged despite the many challenges… we will not back down,” he said in a short statement on his Facebook after chairing the division meeting yesterday.
The meeting is a normal routine to ensure that everything decided by the Supreme Working Council (MKT) reaches the grassroots. At the same time, Tengku Adnan also expressed his appreciation to the grassroots members for continuing their support.
“Their support is very much appreciated and we hope they will remain together in facing all sorts of other challenges towards the 15th General Election (GE) later.”
During the meeting, Tengku Adnan also reiterated the party’s decision through the MKT to continue to strongly support the leadership of the Prime Minister who is Vice President Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob but at the same expressed readiness to face the 15th general election.
What is important, he said is Umno’s togetherness with the people.
The MKT has decided that all preparations be made to ensure the party victory in GE15 and beefing up effort to lure about 5.8 new voters, especially the 18-year of age.
