Johor progress is in the hands of the people

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 14 – Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is optimistic that the development agenda for Johor will continue if the people return back the mandate to this coalition in the state election (PRN).
He said Johorians are believed to have hope in the Chairman of the Johor Umno Liaison Body Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad who had previously excelled in leading the state during his administration as menteri besar.

“The people of Johor love Hasni for the performance he has shown and his commitment to the development of the state.

“I was also told that when BN was dominant in Johor, foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic direct investment (DDI) was at its best.
“If BN is given the mandate again, I am confident the state’s economy will rebound, therefore the mandate on March 12 is important,” he said during a briefing at the Southern Zone Machinery Centre in Bandar Dato Onn, last night.
The Umno president also said the machinery should focus on doing work to ensure that the PRN result gives a comfortable victory to BN.
“Our goal is not just to establish a Johor government with a simple majority but a two-thirds victory. Put aside whatever differences from today, put an end to it because we want to see BN rise again to be dominant,” he said.
The Election Commission (EC) has set March 12 as the polling date, nomination on Feb 26 and early voting on March 8.
The Johor State Government was previously led by BN with 28 seats comprising Umno (14 seats) and MIC (two) and supported by Bersatu (11) and PAS (one) while PH with 27 seats namely DAP (14), PKR (seven) and Amanah (six).
