IPOH, July 17 – Umno hopes there are no obstacles for the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to approve the amendment to its Constitution, said Information Chief Shahril Hamdan.
He said Umno has submitted additional documents required by the RoS, among others was to certify the decision by the Special General Assembly.
“All documents requested were sent in full. There should be no issue. The RoS must give an answer as soon as possible’. In terms of technicality, the document is complete. Once its done, we can focus on other things, especially the general election.
“Members want certainty and assurance,” he said here, today.
Umno has held a Special General Assembly last May which approved a motion to amend its constitution to give the Supreme Working Council (MKT) more time for the party election, with a new clause to extend it six months after the GE.
