AN Umno leader has called for party vice-president Johari Ghani to be given an important position in the government.

Federal Territories Umno information chief Gulam Muszaffar Gulam Mustakim said Johari should hold an important role in the government as he was the sole Umno MP in the Federal Territories.

He said Johari, who is Titiwangsa MP, would be able to voice the concerns of residents in the Federal Territories and ensure that policy measures to improve the welfare of the people were not neglected by the government.

“We have an Umno vice-president in the Federal Territories, a leader who I consider the last man standing in the Klang Valley. He is Johari Ghani,” he said at the Umno general assembly held at the World Trade Centre.
