UMNO supreme council members Abdul Rahman Dahlan and Puad Zarkashi have dismissed claims of ongoing discussions to remove MCA from the BN coalition.
Rahman clarified that no party, including MCA’s longtime political rival and coalition government ally, DAP, had made such a request.
“As a founding member of BN, I see no reason to remove the parties forming the pillar or BN,” he said.
Tidak ada sebab UMNO mahu MCA atau MIC disingkirkan daripada Barisan Nasional (BN).”
Puad, meanwhile said the statement by MCA president Wee Ka Siong on ‘outsiders’ want BN to expel the Chinese party, is not true.
He said, its impossible for BN to listen to them since MCA and MIC formed BY together with Umno.
“No, it will not happen.”
