Ketua Menteri Seharusnya Dari UMNO, Tapi Hormati Keputusan GRS

1. Sejak dari awal saya tegaskan bahawa jawatan Ketua Menteri Sabah seharusnya diserahkan kepada UMNO sebagai parti individu yang memenangi jumlah kerusi DUN terbesar dalam Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (UMNO 14, PPBM 11, STAR 6, PBS 7).

2. Saya dimaklumkan oleh Pengerusi Badan Perhubungan UMNO Negeri Sabah, YB Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin setelah rundingan dibuat di kalangan ADUN-ADUN GRS yang menang, akhirnya bersepakat untuk mencalonkan Datuk Hajiji Bin Noor, demi memastikan kepentingan rakyat Sabah dapat segera diperjuangkan setelah diabaikan Kerajaan Warisan sebelum ini.

3. Saya hormati keputusan tersebut atas dasar semangat autonomi UMNO Sabah yang telahpun dipersetujui bersama.

4. Semoga kerajaan baharu yang dibentuk ini dapat segera memberi tumpuan kepada pelbagai agenda untuk membela kepentingan rakyat Sabah sebagaimana yang termaktub dalam Akujanji GRS.

Umno should get CM post but GRS decision is respected

1. I’ve made it clear since the very beginning that Sabah chief minister post should be given to Umno as the individual party with most state seats in GRS (Umno 14, PPBM 11, STAR 6, PBS 7).

2. I was informed by Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin that after a meeting with the winning assembleymen, they unanimously nominated Datuk Hajiji Noor on the ground of placing the plight of the Sabahans above all as they were neglected by the Warisan government.

3. I respect the decision and within the spirit of Sabah Umno autonomy which was accorded to them.

4. May the newly-formed government gives due attention to various agendas for the Sabahans as stipulated in the GRS manifesto.
