BAGAN DATUK, Oct 9 – The ‘outreach’ program introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in collaboration with Tuanku Mukhriz Chancellor’s Hospital (HCTM) is a support mechanism for the people’s needs in tackling the spread of Covid-19, said minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.
The Wanita chief also said the program can help speed up vaccination process for the local community.
“We believe this program will help the Health Ministry faces the challenges of today’s pandemic.
“The main purpose of this program is helping MOH to create a herd community. So far, MOHE has implemented a total of 2.5 million vaccinations to help MOH achieves the target of immunity, and in Bagan Datuk a total of 1,421 vaccines have been given to the local community.
“We understand the situation where some want to get vaccinated but cannot go to Vaccine Center (PPV) due to health and transportation.
“This PPV has three ways to facilitate…. Namely integration by giving Astra Zeneca, drive past at HCTM and lastly using the concept of ‘outreach’ to the locals,” he said.
He said this while reviewing the Tuanku Muhriz Chancellor’s Hospital (HCTM) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) vaccination outreach program in the Bagan Datuk. Also present was Umno President and Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
