SHAH ALAM, Aug 1 – Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hopes that the enthusiasm shown at the Selangor BN Convention today can be translated into victory in the next General Election (GE).

According to him, the passion and desire to recapture the state and gives new hope to the people of Selangor must be delivered.

“The objective of the Selangor BN convention today, needs to be translated. We can no longer be tied to conventional ways or methods. There are challenges to brace,” he says at the closing ceremony of the Selangor BN Convention here last night. His deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and the leaders of the Central and Selangor BN were also present.

“Political dynamism in Selangor longs for drastic changes and these changes cannot be merely rhetorical. I say cosmopolitan… leaders should also be cosmopolitan… that’s the fact… it’s how we approach the people who are on average in diverse communities,” he said.

He added that BN’s victory in the State Elections Sabah, Melaka and Johor cannot be used as a ‘template’.

“We have many professional figures in Selangor and we need to be big-hearted. If there are figures from anywhere, we welcome them to help Selangor BN. We give a chance and if that person can help us, what’s wrong,” he says.

The Bagan Datuk MP Ahmad Zahid added that the resolution discussed at today’s convention must have thrown some new ideas for Selangor BN to move.

“Go down to your respective areas and make sure our machinery is taken care of. Nothing is impossible… do your best.”
