UMNO wings are not obliged to invite any parties to its assembly, said Umno vice-president Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
“It is not a problem as it is not compulsory for Umno wings to invite others (to their respective assembly).
“This, as Umno general assembly for the national level, has invited them (the component parties in the unity government).
“Therefore, there is no need for Umno wings to do so,” he said in Kuala Lumpur, today.
Khaled, who is also higher education minister, was responding to a question on Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh who said the decision not to invite any parties to the wing’s assembly in conjunction with the party’s general assembly was made unanimously by all exco members and state Youth chiefs.
