PARTY President Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi admitted that there were mounting pressure for him to resign after the dismal run in the recently concluded state elections.
Without saying as to whether he will resign or not, the Deputy Prime Minister said he ‘bears full responsibility’ of the losses but will work together with the party leadership to revive Umno.
“Yes, some want me to resign, some don’t.
“However, there are many factors to the losses and we need to do some soul searchings to identify it,” he said in Kuala Lumpur.
Umno contested 108 seats and won only 19. They lost in Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah.
